Strengthen the abdominal muscles Print E-mail
A crucial factor is joint degeneration or rehabilitation is whether a joint is functioning within its correct range.

The most common way to cause an imbalance is by not having the correct posture.

The stomach muscles play a vital part in correct posture and a very common condition occurs, often where a degenerated hip joint can cause a chronically shortened iliopsoas muscle (runs from the lower back to the upper leg). this condition results in a posture where the hip joint is slightly flexed when standing.

This is quite obvious from the side where it is the bottom poking out.

A strong stomach does a lot to relieve or prevent this condition because the stomach is the opposing muscles and when they are strong they will force the correct allignment of the joint.

We give isntructions for the standard pilates abdominal curl.
